Long before I ever knew I would own a private duty home care company, God was already preparing my heart for it.

I was raised by my grandmother—my Nana. Some of my most meaningful childhood memories are simply being with her. I spent time with her friends, listened to their stories, heard about the lives they had lived, and learned lessons I didn’t realize at the time would stay with me forever.

While other kids may not have understood why I loved being around older adults so much, I did. I loved their stories. I loved their humor. I loved listening to their experiences and the wisdom that could only come from living through decades of life, love, hardship, family, faith, and change.

My Nana gave me more than a childhood filled with memories. She gave me a genuine love and respect for our seniors and elders.

As I grew older, I began to realize that those experiences weren’t accidental. I truly believe God was placing people, circumstances, and connections in my path long before I understood what He was building.

That is how Lasting Connections Private Duty Home Care became so much more than a business to me.

It became a purpose.

I wanted to create something that went beyond sending a caregiver into someone’s home. I wanted to create relationships. I wanted seniors and their families to know that they were seen, heard, respected, and loved.

I also wanted to build a team of caregivers and professionals who felt the same way—people who understand that caring for another human being is more than completing a list of tasks. It is sitting down and listening to the story you’ve already heard three times because it still matters to the person telling it. It’s learning someone’s routines, noticing the little changes, sharing laughter, providing reassurance on the difficult days, and treating someone’s mother, father, grandmother, or grandfather with the dignity you would want for your own family.

Over time, I have watched God continue to place the right connections in my path—clients, families, caregivers, nurses, social workers, healthcare professionals, and community partners. So many of those relationships have reminded me why the name Lasting Connections means exactly what it says.

My greatest hope is to help people remain where so many of us want to be: home.

And when possible, I want our care to help someone remain there through the final chapters of their life—surrounded by familiarity, dignity, compassion, and people who genuinely care—until it is their time to transition to their eternal home.

This journey began with a little girl sitting beside her Nana and spending time with a generation whose wisdom she grew to treasure.

Today, it has become a calling to serve that generation.

I don’t believe the connections along the way have been coincidences. I believe God has had His hand in this journey from the beginning, turning the love my Nana planted in my heart into an opportunity to serve others.
